Kestrel Communications offers effective and elegant communications solutions that can be quickly put into practice. We serve clients, readers, and communities through our use of today's leading media technologies integrated with traditional skills such as project management, writing, editing, graphic design, and teaching. See our Services page for more on how we can aid your outreach to your audiences and communities.

Kestrel was launched in Lakewood, CO, in 2017 by Douglas and Rebecca Cramer, and its foundation is the collaboration uniting their wealth of complimentary abilities and experience. The company grew from Douglas's long career in media, technology and project management, and ten years of successful Internet publishing leadership as a freelance consultant for national clients while based in Santa Fe, NM. The firm is enriched by Rebecca's many years as a classroom teacher and union leader, along with her more recent professional success in the Denver fashion and beauty industry.

Douglas and Rebecca's combined industry experience is wide ranging. They have expertise working in such fields as: Non-Profit Organizations; Public Education; Religious Institutions and Media; Magazine and Print Publishing; Fashion Event Planning; Beauty and Spa Care; Speechwriting and Scriptwriting; Broadcast and Podcast Radio; Market Research and Product Development; Government Health, Human Services, and Public Safety; Insurance and Risk Management; Outdoor Sports and Recreation; and more!

In addition to our key areas of interest like writing, design, teaching, technology, productivity, and ethical business practices, we plan to also write on this site about balancing work and family; life in the Rocky Mountain West; biking, boating and other outdoor adventures; and language and food and culture and all those things we do when we're not in front of our screens.

Rebecca Cramer

Rebecca Cramer, Business and Creative Director

Rebecca Cramer, raised in Oklahoma City, OK, had her first job in design, layout, and printing of concert posters for artists like B.B, King, Bobby Blue Bland, and Wanda Jackson at her family’s offset and lithography business, Colorcraft Poster Company.

Her career history includes editing and managing the review process for The American Ornithologists’ Union’s magazine The Auk, as well as teaching English at the secondary and post-secondary levels. In 2008 she completed a Master’s in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at Oklahoma City University.

One constant has been Becca’s love for the arts and her penchant for creating, and she approaches design and construction from an artist's perspective. She has worked such diverse media as silver-smithing, collage, and found-item art. She loves repurposing things others throw away into something useful and beautiful.

Early on, Becca displayed a passion for makeup early, when at the age of two she broke into her grandmother’s lipstick stash and applied lipstick to herself, the vanity, and the walls. In June 2012, she moved to Denver to become a makeup artist. Under the name Becca Be, and Fetch, her work has appeared in several fashion publications, including Dark Beauty, Jute, and Kai’outi magazines. She has also worked with designers for Denver Fashion Week, and with ADCD’s Paper Fashion Show (both as artist, and Production Designer).
